self portrait vs selfie

 A selfie is a picture of you that is taken by yourself that is informal. They are usually taken by phones. A self portrait is more formal than a selfie. It is usually taken with an actual camera, and are put on timers, whereas selfies don't usually use timers. Selfies also usually use the front camera and cameras the opposite. It is easy to recognize a selfie from a portrait

 I prefer selfies to self portraits because they are easier to take in my opinion. They also truly express  yourself without trying. While taking self portraits you have to put in a lot of time and effort. I also  like selfies because they are not really planned, and they are fun and can be informal- which I like.
   
 I think self portraits are more valuable than selfies because they can express much deeper emotions than selfies can. I also think they are more valuable because it kind of helps show the kind of person you are. If someone sees your picture 20 years from now you would probably want them to see a self portrait not a selfie because you put more time and more effort into it to look good.


 PART 2 SHUTTERBUG WEBSITES

Pelican by kaare lytsen is a site to show pictures taken every day over the course of a few years. I really like these pictures because they show the evolution of her photography and how it changes and grows over time. I think her photography is exceptional and amazing how she managed to take so many creative photos every day. The point of this site is to show viewers how photography can change peoples perspective and views of things, like it did mine. I would recommend this site to viewers. They can get a lot of ideas and inspiration through her pictures. If I had to rate this website I would rate it a 5/5 stars.

I learned a lot from this website. It made me really inspired to try doing the same kinds of pictures that she took, it made me want to re make the same the things she did and do it in the same places and use the same filter that she used.

huntington's story

Janice Jones is 53 years old and lives in Barstow, California, according to California Highway Patrol press liaison Tammy Rye. Rye said Jones was eating pork chops in the back of her motor home, which was parked on Beach Boulevard near Highway 1, when her dog knocked her 9 mm handgun off a seat. The weapon discharged when it hit the floor, and the bullet passed through Jones; leg and through the side of the vehicle, according to Rye. “It could have been worse,” Rye said. “The bullet hit two inches from the gas tank.” Jones was shot in the right leg around 10 p.m. Wednesday, Rye said. The dog seemed to be malnourished, according to Janet Ngo, one of the animal control officers, and had fresh cigarette burns on its forehead. “It could have done with a little less abuse and a few more of those pork chops,” Ngo said. First Day photos  1. The first photo I chose that I liked was of a place. I took a picture of the Bowie HS Library. I liked how the colors go together and how a purse pole is in the front of the picture.    The 2nd photo i chose to take a picture was of a person- Kallie. I like how the camera focuses on her, but there are things in the background which looks really cool. I also like how in the background all the colors go together. The last picture I chose was one I took of a thing. This picture is of the lockers. I really like tis picture because the angle i took it at looks really cool and shows a lot of the lockers, instead of just a few limited amount.
