Student of the Month

freshman Maya Amador was recently selected by Bowie administrators to be named student of the month on march 6th because of her outstanding grades
She takes all AP and Pre AP classes, and the majority of her grades are As. ''I worked as hard as I usually would to receive this award.'' Amadors goal was not to get a reward, but to work hard.
The administrators of Bowie made the decision that Amador would be named this month Student of the Month.
“Maya works hard and does a good job at maintaining her grades along with having many electives like theatre, which you have to dedicate a lot of your time to,” Principle Robinson said.
Amador believes working hard is something you should do without expecting a reward or congradulations.
“I don’t really think we should get rewarded just for working hard,” freshman Maya Amador said.
Amador got help from people when she needed to to achieve this award.
“My dad helped me a lot with studies and questions I had about almost all of my subjects, he really helped me, and I don’t think I could’ve done it without him,” freshman Maya Amador said.
Some of Amadors electives is newspaper and theatre, which she believes makes a positive impact in helping her become student of the month.
“Doing out of school activity helps me be more creative and helps my brain run free,” Freshman Amador said.
“I think my friend Hailey should be chosen to be next months student of the month winner,” Amador said.

Janice Jones is 53 years old and lives in Barstow, California, according to California Highway Patrol press liaison Tammy Rye. Rye said Jones was eating pork chops in the back of her motor home, which was parked on Beach Boulevard near Highway 1, when her dog knocked her 9 mm handgun off a seat. First Day photos  1. The first photo I chose that I liked was of a place. I took a picture of the Bowie HS Library. I liked how the colors go together and how a purse pole is in the front of the picture.    The 2nd photo i chose to take a picture was of a person- Kallie. I like how the camera focuses on her, but there are things in the background which looks really cool. I also like how in the background all the colors go together. The last picture I chose was one I took of a thing. This picture is of the lockers. I really like tis picture because the angle i took it at looks really cool and shows a lot of the lockers, instead of just a few limited amount.
